FF Michael H. Gebert Memorial Foundation

The FF Michael H. Gebert Memorial Foundation was established in 2022 to honor the legacy of Mikey Gebert, a FDNY member who lost his courageous battle with cancer at the young age of 28. Twice previously Mike battled back cancer, once as a teenager and later as a young firefighter. Mikey had a heart of gold and was the biggest gift giver. Through the foundation, we hope to preserve his memory and continue Mike’s relentless kindness and selflessness by raising money for rare cancer research, helping families in their fight with cancer and other FDNY related illnesses. We hope no family ever has to endure the pain we felt losing Mike. The FDNY Family Assistance Unit as well as the Fire Family Transport Foundation were incredibly helpful during this time. Through Mike’s foundation we hope to be able to contribute to these organizations so that they may continue to provide assistance to FDNY families. Earlier this year with your support, we raised over $40,000 in Mike’s name for rare cancer research and have also placed a deposit for a vehicle donation to the Fire Family Transport Foundation.  We hope you will support us as we continue these good works.
